What makes it different

It listens. So the minutes are real.

Most reading logs record what a child says they read. LitLog follows along as they read aloud, highlighting each word and pausing the timer when the room goes quiet.

  • Three strictness levels — Easy is most forgiving, Medium is balanced, Hard expects an exact match.
  • Auto-pause after about 30 seconds of silence, so idle time never counts.
  • English and Tamil today, designed to scale to more heritage and regional languages.
  • Nothing is recorded. Speech is matched on the device and never uploaded.

Our story

From a school science project to a real product

LitLog began as a student innovation project by Manasvi Yuvaraj, answering a problem she saw in her own home: reading logs nobody wanted to keep. It won first place at the Mansfield Innovation Expo — and then it kept going.

Stage one

An award-winning idea

A way to help young readers build a real habit without more screen time. The judges agreed: the problem was real, and the approach worked.

Stage two — today

A company and a working app

  • Filed a patent on the core idea
  • Built the mobile app for Android and iOS

A screen-free reading device

A dedicated handheld built for reading alone — no apps, no notifications — syncing progress back to LitLog. No phones. No tablets. Just reading.
